One of twenty crossings
The Forge
A forge. Metal only changes shape inside the one heat that could also ruin it, and there is no version of this where you stay cold.
The heat that argues with you is the only heat that can change your shape. You have never once been improved by comfort.
Who lands here
This crossing belongs to anyone whose BaZi day master is metal and whose Sun stands in a sign of fire. That is two day masters and three Sun signs — a narrow enough door that most people never walk through it, and a wide enough one that you are not alone in here.

What the two skies do to each other
The fire breaks your metal. That sky argues with you, and it does not lose.
That is two skies out of four. The other two — the main star of your Purple Star life palace, and the planet-star of the Thai day you were born into — are decided by the hour you were born, so neither is fixed by this crossing. They can nod, and they can argue. Most of the time at least one argues, and that is the part of a reading worth paying for.
How the crossing is decidedTwo ways to be the Forge
The crossing is decided by your day master's element, and that element arrives as one of two stems. Same device, two ways to stand in it.
Yang Metal (庚) is the axe-head in the forge fire — heavy stock that needs a serious heat before it moves at all. Small pressure does nothing to you, and you have proof.
Yin Metal (辛) is the fine blade in the same fire, where the margin between shaping and ruining is thin. You change fast under heat, and that is a talent and a danger.
Which door you came through
Three Sun signs carry fire across the bridge, and they do not arrive the same way.
Aries Sun
An Aries Sun walks into the heat. Nobody put you in the forge — you were bored of being cold stock.
Leo Sun
A Leo Sun is forged in public. The hammering is witnessed, and being witnessed is half of what keeps you on the anvil.
Sagittarius Sun
A Sagittarius Sun leaves the forge before the shape is finished and goes looking for a hotter one. You have been reheated more times than most metal survives.
Asked about the Forge
- Why is the Forge a disagreement?
- Fire breaks metal, so that sky argues with your day master. It is also the only heat that can change your shape. Both of those are the same fact.
- Does the Forge mean my life is hard?
- It means comfort has never improved you, which is a different claim. The chart reads tendency rather than fate, and plenty of forges run cool for years at a time.
The other metal crossings
Where else a fire Sun lands
The Sun is only half of it. The same fire Sun meets a different day master in each of these, and the device changes with it.
This is two skies. You have four.
Your birth date and place decide this much for free. The other two need your hour — the Purple Star chart and the day you were born into — and what all four of them add up to is the reading.
